The University of Oviedo one of the oldest in Spain, is strongly committed to the quality of its teaching and research, and the excellence of its services ratifies aimed at the social, cultural and economic development of Asturias in a global perspective based on universal pillars, and collaboration agreements with universities worldwide as a way to reinforce historical and cultural links.
Main targets are to promote research activities and teaching renewal during the years according to the quality standards required by our society. The Oviedo main mission consists on student training, we unite our efforts to provide recent graduates with the knowledge and skills required by the labour market. This is the way how the University of Oviedo supports its students on their way to achieve professional maturity and to become the pillars of the social and economic progress of Asturias. offers degrees in all the branches of knowledge. The total number of students in first and second cycle degrees accounted for approximately 28,000 in the academic year 2009 – 2010, with 54 degrees offered by the university. In addition, in 2009 - 2010 the University of Oviedo offered 42 Masters' Degrees (7 of them are inter university Masters' Degrees and 3 Erasmus Mundus Masters´ Degree) and 37 doctoral programmes.
